Sunday’s high was 106 at DFW Airport. That is the 29th day this year we have hit the triple digits. 2006 had 41 triple-digit days and 1980 had a total of 69.

Sunday’s low was 83 at DFW Airport. That ties the record (from 2006) for warmest low temperature on August 10th. That was also the 27th time our low temperature did not drop below 80. The record is 39 days from 1998.

For January 1st thru August 10th, the hottest year on record by averaging the high and low is 70.9 degrees in 2006. During that same period, the 2008 average temperature is 69.8 degrees which makes this the second hottest year on record so far.
