Prepping for Gustav. By Jennifer Lopez

Hurricane Gustav is making landfall this morning in Southeastern Louisiana.  Wind reports have been anywhere from 76 to 91 mph and rainfall rates have been up to 14 inches in some areas of southern Louisiana.

In North Texas today, we will not feel much from the hurricane.  But, by tomorrow afternoon, scattered showers and storms are expected around here and the wind will pick up to around 20mph with gust as high as 30mph.

As Gustav comes in, people have been getting out.  Military personnel from all over the country have been in New Orleans over the weekend helping residents get to safer ground.

Here are some pictures of ominous clouds moving into the city late yesterday.

The plane is a United States Navy DC-9, based at NAS JRB Fort Worth; it was one of the last planes out of New Orleans last night.
