Storms Return This Week; Some Severe

Last Monday thru Friday was the first week of April, and right on cue, North Texas was slammed with several days of severe weather. The most memorable and significant events were a tornado on Monday near Godley and softball-sized hail on Friday morning near Decatur, Wise County.

The weather timed out perfectly for a beautiful weekend and next weekend also looks to be very nice. But right in the middle, another workweek packed with severe weather.

Monday will feature very isolated storms. Most areas will not see any rain at all; the best chance of rain is north of the Red River. But those folks who do see storms could see some very rapid, intense strong to severe cells. Across North Texas, the best chance of this isolated activity is north & west of the metroplex.

Our storm chances become more scattered on Tuesday as a cold front approaches. While more of the viewing area will see storms, the best chance looks to be from the metroplex to the south & east.

The worst threat for nasty weather across all of North Texas is on Wednesday, Wednesday night and Thursday morning with widespread heavy rain and severe storms before we clear out Thursday afternoon and set up for a nice Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Have a great week,

Steve Mac
