Cold air is moving into North Texas today, but it’s going to stay above freezing this afternoon with a cold, windy rain falling…but….the big question is, “what will happen tonight?”

There’s a big batch of snow in West Texas, near Lubbock, and it’s heading toward Abilene. That batch of snow will start to fall apart once it hits Abilene, but they will still get some snow by afternoon.

As that batch of snow gets closer to us, our temperatures will fall to the mid 30s by 6pm, then closer to freezing by midnight. However, the snow will be diminishing as it gets closer to us.

What that all means is the best chance for seeing a rain/snow mix will be north and west of Tarrant County. Some of us might see some flurries, but at this time, it does not look like we’ll have any accumulation at all. The ground is very warm…after all, it was in the 70s this weekend.

Chances are, you will have school tomorrow….but make sure you tune in today at 4,5 6 and 10pm…and again tomorrow morning early, just in case something changes!
