No Ice, But Still Cold and Wet

The latest data confirms what I have been saying all week. There is no chance of seeing any ice in the Metroplex this weekend. That being said, it is still going to be miserably wet and cold for several days.

We hit 73 degrees Thursday afternoon, thanks to sunshine and a warm and gusty south wind. It will remain warm and breezy Thursday evening, and most of the night. But the cold front should arrive in the Dallas-Fort Worth area by sunrise on Friday. It will be cloudy and much colder, with temperatures in the low 40’s most of the day. Expect a little light rain to begin during the day.

But the main event will be Saturday and Saturday night. Temperatures will remain in the upper 30’s to mid 40’s, with rain and thunderstorms increasing. We could get a couple of inches of rain during that time.

But the rain should be tapering off early Sunday morning. We will see partly cloudy skies, with temperatures climbing back into the 50’s by Sunday afternoon.

So, not a very nice weekend. But at least there will not be an ice storm!
