Spring Storms; Winter Returns

February 11, 2008 at 3:38 am | Posted in Uncategorized | Leave a comment

If someone asked me to describe the thing that makes the weather in North Texas different from anywhere else is the world, I would say it’s the number of different seasons we can sometimes cram into a normal week.

Sunday’s high temperature was 76 degrees. This comes after 71 degrees Saturday and 75 degrees on Friday.

A cold front is coming thru Monday Night into Tuesday Morning. Strong storms could develop across the area with large hail being the biggest severe weather threat.

But just when you thought winter was over, cold temperatures return for Friday and Friday Night. At the same time, we have added light rain to the forecast. It is way too soon to forecast for wintry precipitation, but we definitely need to keep an eye on the forecast. There could be a few hours on Friday night where the temperature is below freezing and light rain is falling. Whether or not we actually see any major problems, we will be reminded that it is still February and it can still get cold.

Have a great week,
Steve Mac
