Winter Storm Watch

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Watch for north Texas for early Friday morning for a chance of freezing rain. At this point I really don’t expect any big accumulations of ice. I am calling for a low of 31 Friday morning. And I don’t think it will stay below freezing long enough to cause major problems.

But anytime we have a combination of light rain and sub-freezing temperatures, we can quickly see some bridges and overpasses ice up. So there could certainly be some travel problems for the Friday morning commute. But by afternoon temperatures will be above freezing and any ice should be long gone. So, no major ice storm, but still you need to be careful driving Friday morning.

And the weekend will bring a welcome warm-up into the 50’s and 60’s.
