The $100 hamburger-Brenham TX

I took advantage of the beautiful (but cold) Saturday to fly my Cessna Cardinal to Brenham and have a great dinner at The Southern Flyer Diner. Just taxi right up, hop out and go eat!

Now, this place is 1950s style, right down to the wait staff wearing poodle skirts and the 50s jukebox!

And diner food it is, check out the menu!

They claim even the ice cream is made from scratch, “We scratch on Blue Bell’s door until they give us some ice cream.”
It was a nice sunset flight back, smooth and quiet.

Here’s a shot of the beautiful Texas sunset over Hillsboro.

Flying over the Metroplex at night is sure beautiful:

  1. Sounds like a great trip! Please post more.

  2. How far is the restaurant from the airport?

  3. The diner is right on the field, on the east side, in the FBO.
