Another Fall Day?

Fall in North Texas, from the 80s two weeks ago, to frost last week, to the 80s again this week. Our weather patterns are shifting from summer to winter, but it never does this smoothly. We’ll get to winter, but as it is every year, it is haphazard and an up and down ride.

After a cooler and wetter than normal summer, does this have any bearing on the kind of winter we can expect? Probably not. Most of the long range outlooks I’ve seen are calling for a winter that will be slightly warmer than normal, and slightly drier than normal. We’ll have to wait and see.

Next week is a huge travel week for many North Texans, and we’ll be watching the national travel weather closely as we get closer to Thanksgiving weekend.
