A Dry Forecast Could Bring Back The Drought

It’s spring in Texas, and that means the good and the bad that we’ve gotten used to each year. The good: Rain, and lots of it. The bad: Severe storms, hail, wind, lightning and, of course, tornadoes, much like this past week.

Saturday night brought storms to parts of North Texas, but that could be the last time we see rain for a while. While a cold front will bring beautiful, cooler temperatures for the next couple of days, our forecast remains rain-free through next weekend.

A series of rain events over the last six months helped turn our drought around, but one full week of dry weather at this time of the year could mean we’re right back into a drought for the first week of June as rain becomes harder to come by.

At this time of the year, a dry forecast can become stormy very fast so stay tuned to NBC5 for the ever-changing spring forecast…and enjoy a week that could be free of those nasty storms.
